Oogiri is a small, independent software team building playful AI products. Our first product is an AI-hosted comedy party game, inspired by ōgiri — the Japanese comedy format where performers compete to give the funniest answer to a shared prompt.
We started Oogiri with a simple observation: large language models are very good at setting up a joke, and humans are still much better at landing one. So instead of asking AI to be the comedian, we made it the host — dealing prompts, keeping score, and getting out of the way so people can be funny together.
We use AI tools across everything we do: prototyping game formats, writing and testing prompt decks, and building the product itself. Moving fast with a tiny team is only possible because of that toolkit.
